The water cab project from Ngurah Rai to Canggu is an attempt to offer tourists an alternative to standard land transportation routes, which often become hell due to traffic jams. According to official reports, the launch is scheduled for December 2025, which is when the first test flight is expected to take place.
At the same time, the project is being implemented as part of a broad infrastructure program covering the stretch of coastline from Kuta to Cemagi. A jetty has already been planned on the coast between Canggu and Cemagi, and the route is enshrined in the region's medium-term development plan. The service is expected to be called "Bali Boat" and will use speedboats with a capacity of up to 200 people.
Although water cabs will not eliminate traffic jams completely - experts note that water routes are impossible without stable navigation and appropriate infrastructure - the step seems timely and promising. It will not only alleviate transportation inconveniences, but also set a trend for sustainable interaction between tourism and the urban environment.
