Indonesian airline Pelita Air has announced the launch of its first international route - direct flights from Jakarta to Singapore, scheduled to debut in December 2025. This was an important step in the company's quest to expand its presence beyond the domestic market.

Pelita Air

Pelita Air, founded in 1963 as a subsidiary of Pertamina and already serving more than a dozen Indonesian cities, is entering serious competition with international carriers. The flight will operate from Sukarno-Hatta International Airport, arriving at Terminal 4 at Singapore's Changi Airport - the former Jetstar Asia counters will now be vacated for the new carrier.

Service in Singapore is entrusted to ground operator SATS, including check-in, catering and baggage handling - this will ensure passenger comfort and smooth connectivity at one of the world's best airports. Ticket sales will start this fall, once all necessary approvals have been received.

In addition to Singapore, Pelita Air plans to open a route to Bangkok in 2026, which should strengthen its position in the ASEAN region. Pelita currently has a fleet of 21 Airbus A320 airliners and its domestic network covers about 13 destinations, from Denpasar to Median and Suranga.

For passengers, this means more direct and convenient routes between Indonesia and Singapore. The flight duration from Bali will be approximately 2-3 hours, making the new service particularly popular for tourists and business travelers.
